Salary: USD 120,000 - 200,000 / annual
Play Anything is a music AI lab building AI-powered tools for music learning and transcription. Songscription is their flagship product—an AI-powered platform that converts audio into sheet music, MIDI, or tabs in minutes. Anything Piano teaches users to play any song on piano. The company has raised $5M in seed funding (led by Reach Capital) and has been featured in TechCrunch, Billboard, and MusicRadar, with hundreds of thousands of users across their products.
As a Founding Fullstack Engineer, you'll help build and scale the platform that powers both the web and mobile experiences. You'll work closely with product, design, and the research team to develop consumer-facing applications that showcase AI breakthroughs in music transcription and learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improving and maintaining the existing web app to ensure it is intuitive, powerful, and showcases the latest research breakthroughs—this may involve significant UX changes or entirely new features
- Contributing to mobile app development to bring the web experience to mobile platforms, enabling users to learn music anywhere
- Taking ownership of end-to-end features, from understanding user needs through design and implementation of scalable solutions
- Collaborating closely with design, product, and marketing teams to ensure new products and features are visually polished, aligned with company vision, and properly promoted
The role is ideal for someone who combines strong full-stack engineering skills with a genuine passion for music. You'll work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and have significant ownership over your work.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in web/mobile development with React, React Native, Next.js, or Tailwind
- Experience with Supabase or similar backend frameworks
- Strong understanding of API design and integration
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership from idea to execution
- Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers
- Experience playing an instrument and/or strong passion for music (bonus)
- Familiarity with music transcription and music data formats such as MIDI or MusicXML (bonus)
