Dawn Aerospace is a space transportation company developing in-space propulsion systems, in-space servicing capabilities, and a spaceplane for high-frequency access to sub-orbital space. The company operates across the Netherlands, France, New Zealand, and the USA.
You will join a seven-person software development team as a Full Stack Web Developer, supporting and building web-hosted tools used across the organization. These tools range from small API services and data visualizers to testing infrastructure and internal engineering applications. The role sits at the intersection of software, electronics, propulsion hardware, and customer needs.
Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining internal web applications end-to-end—from backend services and APIs to user interfaces. You will take ownership of specific applications and be responsible for their quality, reliability, and ongoing development. You'll gather requirements from engineers and other users across the organization, translating complex needs into working tools. You'll create roadmaps and feature plans for applications you own, prioritizing them with the team. A key part of the role is designing user interfaces and workflows that make complex engineering data and processes accessible and easy to work with. You'll also contribute to other tools and projects as team priorities shift.
Because the team is small, you'll quickly be expected to own specific applications while also working across different projects depending on organizational needs. You'll work closely with embedded software engineers, electrical engineers, project managers, and the assembly/integration/verification (AIT) team. The role includes a weekly evening meeting with colleagues in New Zealand during Dutch winter time.
