Zanskar is building technology to make geothermal energy cheap and scalable as a cornerstone of a carbon-free electrical grid. The Platform Data team owns the data infrastructure and user-facing applications that transform raw geospatial, scientific, and operational data into actionable insights for geoscientists, engineers, data scientists, and operators. In this full-stack role, you will design and operate data pipelines that ingest from multiple sources—internal systems, purchased datasets, external feeds—and reconcile them into clean, well-modeled, trustworthy data. You'll also build the web applications and dashboards that deliver this data to stakeholders. You own features end-to-end: from system architecture and pipeline design through API development to frontend implementation, and you're accountable for ensuring the entire system runs smoothly in production. You'll partner directly with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, translate those into technical requirements, and ship products that enable confident decision-making. This is a self-directed role where you research options, make recommendations, and leverage modern AI tools as a force-multiplier. Required skills: Python and SQL for backend work; TypeScript and React for frontend. Strong data engineering instincts around schema design, pipeline reliability, idempotency, and data quality. Comfortable deploying and operating on AWS or GCP, with containers (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi, Terraform). Nice-to-haves include experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster), data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery), dbt, and geospatial/scientific data formats (raster/vector, PostGIS). The role is based in Salt Lake City with hybrid flexibility. Full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position reporting to JD White.
