You'll join as a Full-Stack Software Engineer with end-to-end ownership of complex features across backend services and web applications. Your responsibilities include:
• Design, implement, and deliver complex features across backend services and web applications
• Build and maintain REST APIs and webhooks for enterprise customers, with high standards for reliability, security, and documentation
• Lead integrations from technical scoping through go-live, collaborating with Product, Success, and customer engineering teams
• Improve the Burq Dashboard to help operators run mission-critical deliveries efficiently
• Own production quality: monitoring, incident response, root-causing issues, and preventing recurrence
• Raise team standards through code reviews, technical design input, and mentoring
• Use AI tools daily (Claude, Unblocked, etc.) as a core part of development, testing, and debugging
This role is ideal for someone who spots what's broken or missing, proposes fixes, ships them, and ensures they stay working. Much of the work is integration-heavy: connecting Burq to customer systems, hardening APIs and webhooks, and ensuring reliability under real operational load. You'll work with a small, high-impact team where every person makes a massive difference.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping and owning production systems
• Strong experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript on the backend
• Experience building web applications with React or similar modern framework
• Solid experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices
• Comfortable with SQL and NoSQL databases and building on AWS
• Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs, including webhooks, authentication, and graceful failure handling
• Strong ownership mindset: take problems from ambiguous to done, follow through without being chased, hold yourself accountable for outcomes
• AI-native: actively and fluently use AI tools in daily work and adopt new tooling quickly
• Clear, direct communicator who works effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers
Nice to have:
• Experience with delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms
• Experience with workflow orchestration (e.g., Temporal) or event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka)
• Experience with enterprise integrations and security requirements (SSO, IP allowlisting, audit logging)
