Scopely, a leading video game and interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join the WWE Champions team in Mexico City on a hybrid basis (with remote options available for US/Canada candidates).
WWE Champions is a top-downloaded RPG puzzle match game featuring WWE superstars, with millions of engaged players across mobile and PC platforms.
In this role, you will contribute to high-impact gaming initiatives by bridging backend services and Unity client systems. You'll support the technical roadmap, contribute to live-ops excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, QA, Analytics) to deliver high-quality player experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the technical roadmap for fullstack gaming initiatives with scalable, high-performance architecture
- Contributing to live-ops, incident management, reliability improvements, and service maintenance
- Designing and delivering features that connect Python/Django backend systems with Unity game client requirements
- Facilitating technical discussions across cross-functional teams
- Hands-on feature development with focus on code quality and maintainability across client and server codebases
- Identifying and mitigating technical debt and operational bottlenecks
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional software development in gaming or large-scale live-service applications
- Solid backend engineering experience with Python and Django
- Strong hands-on Unity (C#) development in production environments
- Ability to design scalable systems and manage live-service operations
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization)
- Experience with data-driven content pipelines, performance optimization, and serialization workflows (FlatBuffers/JSON)
- Experience building player-facing features (progression, social, live events, monetization)
- Strong understanding of backend-to-Unity client integration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborative, proactive mindset with high ownership of technical outcomes
