DeWarmte designs and manufactures smart, affordable heat pumps that help homes transition away from gas. The company handles hardware, software, and services end-to-end, meaning software quality directly impacts product performance in customers' homes.
You'll join as a frontend-focused Full Stack Engineer to improve the web application across the entire customer journey—from initial heat-pump advice and quotation through planning and installation. You'll spend most of your time building in Next.js and React, with occasional focused changes to the Django backend when features require them.
Key responsibilities include:
**Customer Experience & Conversion**
- Build, test, and deploy customer-facing features in Next.js and React with supporting Django/API changes as needed.
- Transform customer needs and designs into clear, responsive, accessible interfaces.
- Construct flows guiding customers from discovery through advice, quotation, ordering, planning, and installation.
- Continuously improve conversion, speed, and usability using data and customer feedback.
**Post-Installation Support**
- Enhance post-installation flows for customer questions, service requests, documents, and updates.
- Integrate the web application with workflows used by sales, planning, installation, and service teams.
- Eliminate manual work and friction for both customers and internal teams.
**Frontend Platform & Architecture**
- Improve frontend architecture, reusable components, performance, accessibility, and SEO.
- Strengthen automated frontend testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and safe release practices.
- Collaborate with backend developers to shape clear APIs and interfaces.
- Document implicit knowledge and establish repeatable engineering practices.
- Conduct code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
**AI Integration**
- Use AI tools to support design, coding, testing, reviews, and documentation.
- Help the team improve AI workflows, shared context, and quality checks.
- Evaluate new tools and share learnings; maintain production-code standards for AI-assisted work.
**Cross-functional Collaboration**
- Work with marketing, sales, planning, installation, service, and product teams to solve customer and operational issues without compromising platform integrity.
Success in the first few months means understanding the end-to-end customer journey and frontend architecture, shipping independent frontend features with focused backend changes, and identifying major usability and technical risks. As the role develops, you'll take responsibility for frontend architecture and significant portions of the customer journey, ensuring new features ship predictably and safely with good test coverage.
**Requirements:**
- Solid hands-on experience building and shipping production web applications with depth on the frontend.
- Strong TypeScript and React skills; experience with Next.js (Pages Router familiarity useful).
- Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals with a good eye for responsive design, accessibility, and interaction details.
- Experience building customer-facing flows such as onboarding, configurators, quotes, checkout, or self-service portals.
- Track record of taking functionality from design through implementation, testing, and deployment to production.
- Comfortable working with REST APIs and making focused changes in Python/Django (deep backend specialization not required).
- Good understanding of web performance, SEO, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Practical experience using AI coding tools and understanding both their value and limitations.
- Feel for user experience and ability to make complex information simple.
- Optional: experience with design systems, analytics, experimentation, e-commerce, CRM/planning integrations, or energy/installation sectors.
