You'll join as a Full Stack Engineer focused on the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) product, working on AI-native systems that go beyond feature shipping. This role emphasizes building intelligent, scalable systems where AI is embedded into product design and engineering culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with engineers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, AI-powered product experiences
- Designing and maintaining highly scalable backend services using Ruby on Rails
- Building modern, responsive frontend applications with React.js and React Native
- Integrating AI-driven capabilities into business workflows (LLM-powered features, intelligent automation, semantic search, copilots, workflow agents)
- Architecting systems combining service-oriented architecture with AI components (model APIs, orchestration layers, evaluation loops)
- Improving code quality through refactoring, automated testing, and deployment automation
- Leveraging AI development tools responsibly to increase velocity
- Reviewing code and providing thoughtful feedback on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability
- Maintaining deep understanding of business requirements and designing thoughtful, scalable solutions
- Collaborating across marketing, platform, DevOps, data, product, and analytics teams
- Using data and experimentation to inform engineering and product decisions
- Monitoring production systems including AI-driven features using observability tools
Required experience:
- 2+ years as a professional software engineer
- 2+ years production experience with Ruby on Rails
- 2+ years with React.js or React Native
- Hands-on experience integrating or building AI-powered features into business workflows
- Experience designing and maintaining service-oriented architectures
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Ability to navigate ambiguous and complex project requirements with ownership
- Experience with observability and monitoring systems (NewRelic, CloudWatch, Sentry)
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Product mindset balancing deterministic software systems and probabilistic AI systems
Bonus qualifications include experience with AI copilots, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, ElasticSearch, React Native, Docker, AWS, startup environments, and AI-related open-source contributions.
