Blee is an AI-first marketing content compliance platform trusted by PayPal, NerdWallet, and Brex. Founded by an ex-Adobe marketing ops leader and former lawyer, the company is defining a new category across Fintech, Financial Services, CPG, Travel, and Life Sciences.
You'll join as a Full Stack Engineer with a backend emphasis, taking product requirements and delivering complete, tested implementations across the stack. Your primary focus will be backend services, database design, and infrastructure—building the foundation that powers the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building features end-to-end from specification with tested implementations across frontend and backend
- Designing and maintaining database schemas, writing migrations, optimizing query performance, and ensuring data integrity at scale
- Developing APIs, data pipelines, and core platform services
- Owning infrastructure work including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/alerting, deployment automation, and reliability improvements
- Solving complex implementation challenges, debugging integration issues, optimizing performance bottlenecks, and architecting reliable solutions
- Troubleshooting production issues and diagnosing incidents across the stack
- Writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, e2e)
You're a reliable, execution-focused engineer comfortable across the full stack but especially strong on the backend. You have deep comfort with relational databases, indexing strategies, and query optimization. You reason effectively about system reliability, scaling, and observability. You're methodical, detail-oriented, and a clear communicator who works well with PMs, designers, and customers. You take pride in quality code that is tested, reviewed, and production-ready.
Requirements: 4+ years of full-stack experience with backend emphasis (Python/Node.js + React/TypeScript preferred); cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP); containerization (Docker) and IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi); shipped features in fast-paced startup environments; strong CS fundamentals; observability tooling familiarity; CI/CD and production monitoring experience; based in SF or NYC willing to come in 3 days/week.
Nice-to-haves include advanced SQL skills, Figma plugin experience, Chrome extension building, Adobe UXP/CEP plugin development, Office Add-ins experience, AI/ML integration experience, or legaltech/adtech/compliance tooling background.
