This is a complete lifecycle role—you own development, testing, operation, maintenance, and support for the software you create.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building end-to-end customer solutions using Python, TypeScript, React, and AWS
- Owning problems from conception to production, rapidly acquiring missing knowledge as needed
- Collaborating within a dynamic, high-performing team that values engineering excellence, curiosity, bias for action, ownership, and radical candor
- Communicating effectively with both internal teams and customer stakeholders to design and articulate well-engineered solutions to ambiguous problems
- Leveraging AI tools to improve your own practices and team productivity ("building AI with AI")
Required qualifications:
- Extensive professional experience with full-stack web development (Python, TypeScript, React, data structures, AWS)
- Strong systems thinking and ability to work end-to-end
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, intelligent team environment
Preferred experience:
- Deep expertise in data engineering, ML engineering, or data science (LLM integration, model fine-tuning, evaluations, AI/ML infrastructure at scale)
- Professional DevOps, security, or cloud infrastructure experience (GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS CDK)
The role is on-site in Redwood City, California or Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a customer-facing engineering position requiring strong soft skills and the ability to design solutions for complex, ambiguous problems.
