Outset is an AI-powered user research platform that enables global enterprises like HubSpot, Microsoft, Uber, and Nestle to conduct qualitative research at scale. The company recently raised a $30M Series B (December 2025) and is experiencing 8x business growth as enterprises adopt AI-moderated research as a new standard.
As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in building the user-facing interfaces that power Outset's research platform. You'll collaborate directly with the CTO and CEO on strategic technical decisions and product direction, ensuring the frontend architecture supports the company's rapid growth and enterprise customer needs.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces using React and Next.js, building robust and responsive components that integrate seamlessly with backend services and APIs, and enhancing user experiences through real-time data visualization and interaction. You will lead frontend projects from conception through production deployment, with a focus on scalability, responsiveness, and reliability. You'll also interface directly with users to gather feedback, understand pain points, and continuously improve the product's UI/UX.
You should have 3+ years of production-grade frontend engineering experience with strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Experience building scalable, responsive web applications and integrating with RESTful or GraphQL APIs is essential. A strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices is required. Bonus experience includes real-time data visualization, WebRTC, or frontend performance optimization.
