David AI is an audio data research company founded in 2024 by former Scale AI engineers. The company recently raised a $50M Series B and serves major FAANG companies and AI labs as customers. David AI develops high-quality training datasets for audio AI, addressing the bottleneck of data quality as audio AI advances.
As a Frontend Engineer, you'll build intuitive interfaces that help users understand and work with audio datasets used to train AI models. You'll work closely with researchers and the operations team to ship polished UI features that thousands of users interact with daily.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shipping production-grade, intuitive UI features for audio data analysis
- Building performant, responsive interfaces on top of data processing pipelines handling terabytes of speech data
- Designing interfaces that surface LLM and DSP-based solutions to help customers understand dataset features
- Rapidly iterating on research hypotheses by deploying interfaces for new data collection
- Staying current with frontend technologies and frameworks
You'll need 2+ years of frontend engineering experience with strong fundamentals in rapid prototyping and building interfaces that scale to many users. A proven track record of delivering customer-focused engineering solutions is essential. You should thrive in fast-paced environments with detail-oriented execution and a focus on polished, intuitive products.
Bonus experience includes digital signal processing knowledge, speech understanding, building interfaces for ML-powered products, or having led engineering teams in high-growth environments.
The tech stack includes Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Node.js, tRPC, PostgreSQL, and AWS. AI/ML or audio experience is not required but enthusiasm for learning is important.
