As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will design and develop a service-oriented, decoupled web application that wraps complex biological and machine learning functionality in an intuitive user interface. Your core responsibilities include building modern frontend systems in cloud environments, creating novel visualizations for biological data structures, and collaborating closely with biologists and ML experts to understand domain requirements and translate them into elegant UX.
You should have strong fundamentals in TypeScript and React, with experience developing frontend systems using modern software practices (code reviews, version control, CI/CD). You are a fast learner who can rapidly absorb new domains—whether programming languages, ML algorithms, or biological concepts. You take pride in getting things done and derive satisfaction from shipping quality work. You write tests at appropriate fidelity levels and develop strong product understanding to drive good UX decisions. You particularly enjoy transforming complex expert data structures into simplified, well-designed visualizations. Above all, you are a collaborative team player who contributes to a positive working environment.
