Supabase is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the frontend tooling for its marketing/docs website and core product "Studio," used by millions of developers worldwide. You will ship products from 0→1, taking features from conception through production and iterating based on real user feedback, support threads, and usage data rather than top-down specs.
Key responsibilities include owning the quality pipeline—building layered checks (type safety, linting, unit/component tests, contract tests, accessibility, visual regression, bundle-size budgets) that enable fast development without breaking things. You'll ensure bugs caught once are caught forever by adding preventative checks at the earliest possible stage. You'll work end-to-end across the frontend UI, API contracts, preview deploys, and observability, operating autonomously in a public codebase that thousands of developers read and contribute to.
You bring a proven track record of launching real products, iterating based on user behavior, and shipping to production. You have deep React and TypeScript fundamentals with strong understanding of modern frontend architecture (SSR, streaming, server components, edge). You treat tests, types, and CI as enablers for speed, not overhead, and have hands-on experience with tools like Vitest, Playwright, and MSW. You're comfortable working alongside AI coding agents—reviewing their output, tightening architecture, and building guardrails for verification. You thrive with autonomy and async communication, managing your own time and communicating clearly in writing.
