Catawiki is a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects, with over 100,000 unique items auctioned weekly and 25+ million objects sold to date. The company is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join one of its main development verticals—Demand, Supply, or Fulfilment—to improve the experience of buyers, sellers, and internal teams across the platform.
In this role, you will build impactful product experiences by delivering innovations across Catawiki's web and mobile apps. You'll create adaptable web frontends on top of scalable microservices using TypeScript and ReactJS, ensuring responsive and accessible experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile. You'll optimize product performance by measuring and monitoring systems, then use insights to improve user experiences. Working alongside Backend, Frontend, iOS, and Android Engineers, you'll collaborate closely with QA, UX Designers, and Product Managers, supported by a Tech Lead Manager.
Key responsibilities include building and improving product features for buyers, sellers, customer service, and internal operations teams; delivering responsive, accessible interfaces; experimenting with A/B tests and data analysis to validate ideas; and collaborating across disciplines to build scalable, maintainable solutions.
You bring extensive frontend experience with JavaScript or TypeScript as your primary stack and a strong portfolio of frontend deliveries. You have proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern web foundations (HTTP/S, Critical Rendering Path, CORS, caching, CDNs). You're familiar with ReactJS, NextJS, Redux, CSS Modules, Tailwind, and/or Rails. You have proven experience in product companies working within autonomous, cross-functional teams, and you take ownership of production systems from design through implementation and monitoring.
