Catawiki is a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects, with over 100,000 unique items auctioned weekly and 25+ million objects sold to date. The company is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join one of its main development verticals: Demand, Supply, or Fulfilment.
In this role, you will build impactful product experiences across the Catawiki platform for buyers, sellers, customer service, and internal operations teams. You'll create adaptable web frontends on top of scalable microservices using TypeScript and ReactJS, delivering responsive and accessible experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile. You'll optimize product performance by measuring and monitoring systems, experiment with Product Managers and UX Designers through A/B testing, and collaborate across disciplines with backend engineers, QA, design, and product colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and improving product innovations for the Catawiki platform
- Creating responsive, accessible web experiences using core frontend stack (TypeScript, ReactJS)
- Optimizing performance through measurement, monitoring, and data-driven insights
- Partnering on A/B tests and data analysis to validate and iterate on ideas
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable, maintainable solutions
You bring extensive frontend experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, strong web foundations (HTML, CSS, HTTP/S, Critical Rendering Path, CORS, caching, CDNs), and modern frontend expertise (ReactJS, NextJS, Redux, CSS Modules, Tailwind). You have proven experience in product companies working within autonomous, cross-functional teams, and you take ownership of production systems. As a Senior Developer, you're effective at lifting the level of your team and enjoy cooperating with frontend engineers across teams.
