You'll join a small, dynamic team building cloud-managed access control systems—Verkada's second major product line. This is a startup-within-a-startup environment with significant ownership and autonomy. The Access Control solution enables users to manage doors, schedules, and credentials from anywhere via web or mobile.
In this role, you will:
- Build best-in-class product experiences across the Command web platform using React
- Take partially-formed product ideas and drive them to completion
- Lead projects end-to-end from design through implementation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
- Focus on delivering complete products and experiences, not just features
- Work on features that directly impact customers relying on the technology daily
You bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
- 1+ years of industry software engineering experience
- Deep JavaScript expertise (scoping, closures, contexts, prototypes, classes)
- Strong React experience and CSS proficiency
- Architectural understanding of custom components, custom UI, and cross-browser support
- Eye for design, product details, and polish
- Understanding of HTTP and practical debugging techniques
- Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework and database system
- Commitment to full-time onsite work (5 days/week in San Mateo)
