Salary: USD 80,000 - 120,000 / annual

As a Fraud Investigation Associate, you will be the primary investigator protecting Lendable's US personal loans and credit card products from identity theft and organized fraud. Working within the FinCrime team, you'll investigate both pre-onboarding and post-onboarding fraud across the customer lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating suspicious applications to detect synthetic identities and third-party identity theft at point of onboarding
- Conducting deep-dive investigations into suspected fraud rings and organized criminal activity, collaborating with senior leadership on high-stakes cases
- Managing end-to-end investigations of suspicious activity, gathering KYC documentation, and preparing comprehensive case files for SAR consideration by the second line of defense team
- Performing initial clearing of Sanctions and PEP alerts to ensure prohibited transactions are not facilitated
- Handling CFPB and Credit Reporting Agency disputes related to fraud claims, ensuring fair and timely resolution for identity theft victims
- Communicating directly with US consumers to verify identity details and confirm legitimacy of high-risk applications

Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in fraud investigations, specifically within US fintech, personal loans, or credit cards; OR equivalent FinCrime investigative experience in US Law Enforcement
- Technical literacy with identity verification tools (Alloy, Socure, or similar); ability to read identity reports beyond Pass/Fail scores and navigate ID databases
- Detail-oriented with ability to document complex investigations clearly for business leadership, regulators, and bank partners
- Understanding of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and its application to fraud disputes and consumer protection
