CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking an FPGA Engineer II to contribute to the development of FPGA circuits and systems across all phases of the development lifecycle.
In this role, you will design, verify, test, and deploy FPGA systems at the HDL level. Your work will encompass high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, multi-clock domain designs, and management interfaces. You will be responsible for testing, validation, and verification of FPGA designs. The role offers hands-on, interactive work in a dynamic, cross-functional startup environment focused on cutting-edge aerospace hardware.
Desirable experience includes digital signal processing and board-level hardware design. You will work with lab instruments including digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in FPGA design, analysis, and implementation at the HDL level
- Expertise in FPGA design and verification tools: Verilog/VHDL, HDL Coder, Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Aerospace design and qualification
- Worst-case analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability analysis
- Board-level hardware design
- Familiarity with communications systems and digital signal processing
