CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking an FPGA Engineer II to contribute to the development of FPGA circuits and systems across all phases of the development lifecycle.
In this role, you will design, verify, test, and deploy FPGA circuits at the HDL level. Your work will encompass high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, multi-clock domain management, and control interfaces. You will be responsible for testing, validation, and verification of FPGA designs. Experience with digital signal processing or board-level hardware design is desirable.
This is a hands-on position in a dynamic, cross-functional startup environment focused on cutting-edge aerospace hardware. You will work autonomously and collaboratively across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience in FPGA design, analysis, and implementation at the HDL level
- Expertise in FPGA design and verification tools: Verilog/VHDL, HDL coder, Xilinx Vivado, Modelsim, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, or refugee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Aerospace design and qualification
- Worst-case analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability analysis
- Board-level hardware design
- Familiarity with communications systems and digital signal processing
