CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking an FPGA Engineer I to contribute to the development of FPGA circuits and systems across all phases of the development lifecycle. In this role, you will design, verify, test, and deploy FPGA circuits at the HDL level. Your work will encompass high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, multiple clock domains, and management interfaces. Testing, validation, and verification are central to the position. You will use industry-standard tools and collaborate across a dynamic, cross-functional team in a startup environment focused on cutting-edge aerospace hardware. Desirable experience includes digital signal processing and board-level hardware design. The role offers hands-on, interactive work with direct impact on satellite and spacecraft systems. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution - University-level experience in FPGA design, analysis, and implementation at the HDL level - Expertise in FPGA design and verification tools: Verilog/VHDL, HDL Coder, Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim, or equivalent - Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations (ITAR compliance) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Aerospace design and qualification - Worst-case analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability analysis - Board-level hardware design - Communications systems and digital signal processing
