Phonely is building conversational voice AI agents for high-volume phone workflows. Customers use the platform to qualify leads, book appointments, route calls, and resolve real customer conversations in production. This is the company's first product hire.
You will own the voice AI product end-to-end, from initial customer conversations through launch, adoption, and iteration. You'll spend significant time between engineering and customer success, translating customer needs into a prioritized roadmap and ensuring shipped features drive adoption and revenue.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting constant customer research through calls, transcripts, tickets, and feature requests to inform prioritization
- Translating feedback from customer success and sales into a clear roadmap with explicit tradeoffs
- Collaborating closely with engineering and design throughout the build cycle
- Defining success metrics before launch and validating outcomes post-launch
- Partnering with sales, marketing, and customer success on positioning, launches, and enablement
- Building the product function itself: establishing prioritization frameworks, documentation standards, launch processes, and measurement approaches
- Setting the product vision for the next year and making the case for it
- Contributing to a culture of evidence-based decision-making with strong opinions backed by data
This role is positioned as revenue-generating: your product choices directly determine which deals the company wins and how customers grow, and you will be measured on business outcomes alongside the go-to-market team.

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of product management experience
- Demonstrated ability to take a vague idea through to a product people love
- Experience owning a real business outcome and comfort being measured on it
- Exceptional organization and follow-through
- Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Technical fluency sufficient to discuss APIs, latency, and model behavior with engineers
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience shipping AI or LLM-based products to production
- Prior collaboration with customer success or support teams
- Knowledge of call centers, contact centers, or high-volume phone operations
- Prior experience as a first PM at a company with reflections on what you'd do differently
