Constellation is building an AI-human translation layer focused on understanding what it means to be human. The company is generating a richest-ever multimodal dataset to train a new class of foundation models, with applications in human empowerment, cognitive augmentation, and emotional wellness.
As a Founding Product Engineer specializing in Visualization, you will own the interface between Constellation's data infrastructure and its users. Your core mission is transforming raw, high-dimensional multimodal data into intuitive, actionable, high-performance visualization dashboards.
You will serve two critical user groups: Data Collection Technicians who need real-time status monitoring to ensure data integrity during live recording sessions, and AI Researchers/Data Scientists who need tools for navigating data, replaying segments, and identifying patterns.
Key responsibilities include building a snappy interactive dashboard for navigating and visualizing multimodal data streams (video, audio, 3D, timeseries); creating custom interactive visualizations for complex data types; designing interfaces for manual annotation and note-taking; collaborating with the Infrastructure team on backend data syncing strategies (WebSockets/streaming); managing high information density with intuitive layouts; and optimizing rendering logic to maintain smooth UI performance even while ingesting megabytes of data.
You bring 5+ years of frontend engineering experience building complex, data-heavy web applications. You have deep expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one major framework. You're proficient with d3.js, WebGL, Three.js, or similar visualization libraries. You have a natural eye for aesthetics and UX, with a track record of crafting polished, visually compelling interfaces. Prior experience with video players, audio visualization, 3D spatial data, or multivariate timeseries in the browser is essential. You're adaptable, creative, and thrive in high-bandwidth collaborative environments. Interest in neurotech, mental health, or human-AI interaction is a plus.
