Round Treasury is an AI-powered financial OS platform automating treasury, payments, AP, FX, and financial workflows for SMEs and mid-market companies. The company has grown from a handful to hundreds of customers, is backed by leading early-stage VCs (a16z, Sequoia, Accel, Atomico), and is preparing for Series A fundraising while expanding into the US and EU.
You will be Round's first operations hire, reporting directly to the CEO (Pac) and working closely with the CTO (Hayyaan) and product/GTM teams. This is a senior, autonomous role building the operations function from scratch—not a chief of staff position. You own all systems and special projects outside of product development and sales: company finances, operating rhythm, fundraising and corporate administration, legal and regulatory work, people operations, workplace culture, and resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating rhythm: all-hands meetings, planning, shared metrics, performance management
- Resilience: eliminating single points of failure, building customer support/success operations, automating or documenting processes
- People: onboarding, offboarding, equipment, commission structures, employer brand
- Workplace: office management, offsites, culture building
- Fundraising and corporate admin: legal work, cap table management, ESOP, data room, investor updates
- Legal and regulatory: managing advisers, regulatory compliance, entity setup for US/EU expansion
- Finance: running Round's finances, learning customer pain points, feeding insights to product
- GTM support: joining customer conversations, events, and talks as a credible voice to finance leaders
You'll be one of Round's most demanding users, running the company's own finances on Round's platform and providing direct feedback to the product team. The role requires high operational rigor (FCA-authorised, multi-entity structure) balanced with speed and good judgment over heavy process.
Requirements:
- 6–10 years of experience, with proven track record scaling operations at a fast-growing company (ideally from ~20 to 100+ people)
- Strong finance foundations; credibility in front of CFOs and finance leaders
- Finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or background in finance, banking, or consulting preferred
- Experience managing a fundraise: data room, cap table, investor relations
- Comfortable with legal and regulatory work; able to manage lawyers and read contracts
- Ownership of people processes: onboarding, offboarding, performance, commission, UK employment basics
- Systems thinking: identify patterns in recurring problems and solve them once
- Very high agency: self-directed, prioritizes independently, communicates decisions clearly
- Genuinely AI-native: default approach to manual processes is automation/agents/workflows; actively use Claude, ChatGPT, or similar
- Excellent written communication
- No ego about execution; comfortable with both strategic and operational work
Nice to have: fintech or regulated environment experience (FCA), US/EU entity setup, customer support/success function building.
