Ploy is a marketing platform that transforms company websites into growth engines, helping everyone from early-stage founders to growth-stage teams manage digital marketing channels including SEO/AEO, paid acquisition, conversion rate optimization, and ABM. The company is backed by First Round Capital and Y Combinator, with offices in San Francisco and New York.
As Founding Growth Marketer, you will become a power user of Ploy itself, using the platform to grow Ploy's own business. You'll own digital marketing channels that build awareness and drive new customer acquisition, working closely with the founder and go-to-market team.
Key responsibilities:
- Own acquisition across paid search, paid social, and SEO/AEO, setting channel goals, managing budgets, and growing qualified traffic, signups, and demo requests
- Run conversion experiments across ad creative, audiences, offers, and landing pages, developing hypotheses, launching tests, and using results to improve performance
- Build targeted email campaigns for user onboarding, free-to-paid conversion, and re-engagement
- Track channel performance through activation, paid conversion, and sales pipeline, using acquisition costs and customer quality to guide investment decisions
- Partner with engineering, product, and design teams on new capabilities, testing them in live campaigns and providing specific feedback
You'll bring a practitioner's perspective to the product and engineering teams, helping shape new features and improve the workflows customers rely on. The role requires working in-office in San Francisco's Financial District a minimum of three days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or demand generation, ideally at a startup
- Track record of measurable growth: increasing qualified signups or marketing-sourced pipeline, improving conversion rates, or lowering customer acquisition costs
- Deep hands-on experience in at least one digital acquisition channel with ownership of campaigns, budgets, targeting, and optimization
- Hands-on experience building marketing automations and AI workflows, connecting tools and data, orchestrating agents, and evaluating results
- Strong analytical skills: ability to set up tracking, analyze funnels, and design experiments that produce useful answers
- Sharp judgment on messaging and creative: ability to write effective ads and emails, and provide designers with specific, useful feedback
