Salary: USD 120,000 - 300,000 / annual
Rork is building a platform to democratize app development by enabling users to solve their own problems through AI-powered coding. The mission is to make app building as accessible as YouTube made video creation, with a focus on mobile as the primary platform.
As a Founding Fullstack Engineer, you'll be one of the earliest technical hires at a 5-person startup founded by Daniel and Levan, both technical generalists and full-stack engineers. You'll work directly with the founders to ship product features daily across the entire stack.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and ship frontend features for Rork's Next.js and React Native applications
- Develop backend features and integrations with third-party services (Neon, Airtable, Notion, MongoDB, Supabase)
- Optimize infrastructure using Cloudflare, WebSockets, and code sandbox services (e2b, Fly.io, CodeSandbox)
- Iterate on Rork's AI Agent capabilities, building and optimizing tools, engineering prompts to reduce errors, and enabling features like background agents
- Work with high agency and ownership, figuring things out independently
The role demands intensity: expect to work 10+ hours per day, 6+ days per week. This is a founding-stage opportunity with significant equity upside and the chance to shape a product from the ground up.
REQUIREMENTS:
You should have strong experience in one or more of the following:
- Frontend: deep understanding of React, TypeScript, and Next.js
- React Native and potentially native development (Swift/Kotlin)
- Backend: deep experience with databases and complex infrastructure, ideally Cloudflare, WebSockets, and Vercel AI SDK for building agents
- Former founder experience shipping mobile/web apps to 10,000+ users
- High agency and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work 10+ hours daily, 6+ days weekly
Bonus qualifications:
- Strong design taste or former design background
- Experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for Cloudflare, Vercel, Bun, Deno, Neon, or Clickhouse
