Cimento AI is building AI-powered cybersecurity training to help organizations develop security-conscious teams. The company is backed by operators and angels from Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, and Okta.
As a Founding Engineer, you will own entire systems and make architectural decisions that shape the product. You'll work directly with early customers to understand their pain points and translate feedback into shipped features. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build foundational technology alongside a small, high-trust team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting adaptive phishing simulations that use LLMs to evolve based on user risk, role, and behavior
- Building infrastructure to ingest and analyze real-time behavioral signals like decision latency and user telemetry
- Designing interfaces that help security teams visualize and act on human risk data
- Making foundational technical decisions around tools, patterns, and system architecture
- Shipping clean, scalable, well-documented code across the full stack
- Using AI tools to accelerate workflow and focus on high-impact problems
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent
- Strong fundamentals in computer science: data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Proficiency in Go or TypeScript
- Track record of shipping products, features, or projects you built yourself
- Excellent communication skills and bias toward transparency
- Genuine passion for building and comfort with ambiguity
Bonus experience includes cybersecurity, AI/ML, or enterprise software background; familiarity with Go, TypeScript, NextJS, Postgres/SQL, AWS, and Cloudflare; hands-on experience with LLMs or AI coding tools; and a portfolio demonstrating your thinking (GitHub, blog, or personal projects).
