Salary: USD 110,000 - 140,000 / annual
Rilla is a venture-backed sales coaching software company (backed by Google Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, and others) with over 1,000 customers including The Home Depot, KKR, and PulteGroup. The company is building AI-native systems to index and capture offline conversations at scale.
This is a founding role to own compliance and IT operations end-to-end as the company scales. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining SOC 2 certification, and driving HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 compliance from the ground up. Currently, this work is done manually; your mission is to transform compliance from a recurring fire drill into an automated, AI-native system that runs continuously.
You'll sit on the BizOps team and serve as connective tissue across engineering, HR, legal, and leadership. Key responsibilities include:
- Own and maintain SOC 2; drive HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 to completion
- Automate compliance workflows with AI so audit readiness is continuous, not a scramble
- Build systems, evidence pipelines, and processes that enable operation in regulated environments at speed
- Translate between engineering, HR, legal, and leadership, turning ambiguous requirements into clear, tracked, delivered work
- Execute employee onboarding and offboarding processes with attention to security, compliance, and user experience
- Stand up the IT foundation from scratch, including device management, network troubleshooting, and general IT ops
- Create clear, trusted visibility into compliance and IT status for leadership
- Provide local IT support for office employees, including in-person troubleshooting, setup, and hardware support

You thrive with extreme accountability, rapid feedback, and a bias toward action. You communicate with exceptional clarity across technical and non-technical audiences and are unafraid of failure. The company operates at high velocity in-office in NYC with an intense, ambitious culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong technical foundation: computer science background or equivalent hands-on technical ability
- Genuine fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to automate real work
- Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort shipping in ambiguity, with a bias for driving clarity and removing blockers
- Judgment to operate in regulated systems where details matter
NICE TO HAVE:
- Prior compliance experience (SOC 2 minimum)
- Hands-on experience with HIPAA, GDPR, or ISO 27001
- Experience standing up IT or device management for a growing team
Note: Prior compliance experience is a plus, not a hard requirement. The company seeks fast, technical learners hungry to own this space.
