Maxima is an agentic AI platform purpose-built for enterprise accounting, delivering SOX-compliant, real-time close processes. Founded by veterans from Rubrik, Twitter, and Netflix, the company has raised the largest seed round in accounting tech history from Kleiner Perkins and Audacious Ventures.
As Forward Deployment Strategist, you will lead enterprise implementations of Maxima's AI platform, working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and Accounting Operations teams to automate close processes and deliver measurable efficiency gains. This is a cross-functional role requiring daily collaboration with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
Key responsibilities include owning technical and operational delivery for multiple enterprise implementations; acting as the primary interface between customers, Product, and Engineering to translate accounting workflows into implementation plans; managing deployment timelines, dependencies, and milestones while proactively removing blockers; creating standardized frameworks and templates that streamline deployments across customers and industries; supporting pre-sales scoping and discovery for enterprise prospects; gathering field insights to inform product roadmap priorities; and identifying patterns across deployments to drive improvements in delivery velocity and customer outcomes.
You will need 3+ years in enterprise customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or Technical Implementation, with a proven track record leading complex, high-stakes software deployments at large enterprises. Strong understanding of financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday) or prior experience in finance operations is required. You must translate fluently between technical and non-technical audiences, excel at project management and communication, design scalable processes, thrive in fast-paced ambiguous environments, and bring curiosity about AI's potential to transform enterprise operations.
This role offers the opportunity to partner with Product and Engineering to define how AI agents scale in accounting, bridge real-world accounting challenges with cutting-edge technology, and directly impact product direction and company growth at a mission-driven Series A startup.
