Anysphere, maker of Cursor (an AI-native code editor), is seeking a Forward Deployed Strategist to own strategic customer engagements from initial workshop through delivery and adoption.
You will work in a pod with 1–2 Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), owning the executive relationship and overall shape of delivery while the FDE embeds with the customer's technical team. Your responsibilities span three core areas:
**Scoping & Discovery:** Partner with customer executive sponsors to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI. Lead technical discovery and architecture reviews to validate feasibility, surface integration complexity, and identify infrastructure constraints.
**Delivery & Enablement:** Work hands-on at the configuration layer (workflows, integrations, platform tooling) while the FDE owns deeper production builds. Own technical enablement and adoption by running training, building playbooks, and coaching the customer's team to self-sufficiency. Monitor feasibility throughout delivery and adjust scope with the sponsor when constraints emerge. Identify and scope expansion opportunities in partnership with the account team. Escalate product gaps and recurring customer pain to Product and Engineering with specificity to drive roadmap decisions. Build reusable playbooks to scale the broader FDE organization.
**Executive Relationship:** Establish and maintain the C-suite relationship as the primary point of contact from kickoff through handoff. Sell the vision and plan to stakeholders who need confidence in both outcome and team. Translate between business outcomes and technical implementation in both directions.
The role combines technical credibility in agentic coding and LLMs with executive presence to earn boardroom trust and the judgment to keep engagements scoped tight, delivered fast, and repeatable.
**Requirements:**
- 6+ years in Solutions Architecture, Deployment Strategy, technical consulting, or Engagement Manager roles owning scoping and delivery with technical teams in AI-production workflows
- Strong understanding of agentic coding and LLMs: production behavior, failure modes, and resilient workflow design (not required to write production code)
- Hands-on comfort with Cursor workflows, integrations, and platform configuration; ability to read Python/JS-TS to partner effectively with FDEs
- Shipped AI-native workflows past prototype stage; can distinguish real production constraints from nice-to-haves
- Ability to enter unfamiliar enterprise engineering organizations, identify high-leverage interventions quickly, and scope deliverables with concrete value in weeks, not quarters
- Executive presence to own C-suite relationships and technical credibility to earn trust with engineering leads
- Domain depth in FSI, insurance, telecom, high-tech, healthcare/life sciences, or semiconductor is a strong plus
