CuspAI is a frontier AI company focused on using artificial intelligence to accelerate the discovery of breakthrough materials for energy, semiconductors, clean water, carbon capture, and other critical challenges. The company's founding team comprises world-class researchers in AI, chemistry, and engineering.
You will serve as the Scientific Developer Relations Manager, acting as the primary technical and scientific point of contact for enterprise and research partners. Your role bridges CuspAI's AI platform capabilities with the complex materials science challenges faced by partner organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
**Scientific Advisory & Partner Engagement**: Serve as the technical lead for computational chemists, materials scientists, and technical leaders at partner organizations. Provide expert-level guidance on leveraging CuspAI's platform to solve materials challenges such as semiconductor performance optimization, carbon capture efficiency, and energy storage. Lead technical workshops, code-alongs, and scientific demonstrations for expert external audiences.
**Technical Enablement & Content Creation**: Build scalable developer resources including technical documentation, sample notebooks, APIs, and reference guides tailored to advanced materials science workflows. Bridge the gap between high-level community events and hands-on technical support needed for partner Discovery Sprints.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work closely with AI Research, Computational Chemistry, and Product teams to channel partner feedback into platform development priorities. Collaborate with Marketing and PR to co-author deep-tech case studies, whitepapers, and technical blog posts highlighting materials breakthroughs achieved via the platform.
You will work three days per week in the office with regular travel expected for collaboration and project work.
**Requirements:**
- Strong academic background or equivalent professional experience in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Electrical Engineering, with ability to engage peer-to-peer with world-class scientists
- Hands-on experience with computational chemistry tools, molecular simulation software, or Python-based data science workflows (PyTorch, ASE, RDKit)
- Proven track record in developer relations, technical partner engineering, or application science, ideally in high-growth startups, deep-tech environments, or advanced materials companies
- Genuine interest in how frontier AI can revolutionize materials science
- Confident, charismatic technical communicator able to translate abstract scientific concepts and complex AI workflows into clear, actionable advice
**Bonus qualifications:**
- Experience managing joint developer or research ecosystem programs with major hardware tech companies
- Professional background in semiconductor foundries, design firms, or electronics materials suppliers
- Fluency in Japanese, Korean, German, or other languages relevant to global hubs
- Understanding of crystallography, materials properties, and advanced machine learning models for property prediction
