Palantir Technologies is seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) to work directly with US Government customers on critical data-driven operations and decision-making projects. In this role, you will function as a technical leader within small, autonomous teams, owning end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects with minimal supervision. Your responsibilities will span the full technical and strategic spectrum: architecting solutions, managing large-scale data systems, developing custom applications, engaging with customer executives, and establishing team strategy. You might spend one day discussing system architecture with fellow engineers, the next wrangling massive datasets or building a web application, and another advising customers on how to leverage their data for operational impact. Projects often begin with open-ended challenges such as "Why are we delaying so many flights?" or "How can we better identify instances of money laundering?" You will work on some of the world's most important problems across critical industries and institutions. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, and continuous learning in novel problem domains. You'll gain rare insight into government operations and contribute meaningfully to national security and operational effectiveness. Palantir values impact, ownership, collaboration, trust, growth, and learning. The company encourages experiential learning and autonomous decision-making within a supportive community. Travel as needed is expected for customer engagement and on-site work. REQUIREMENTS: - Active US Security Clearance at or above the Secret level (required) - Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics - Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar - Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks - Experience with logistics, materiel, sustainment, aviation, or readiness analysis (preferred) - Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams - Demonstrated ability to work independently, learn continuously, and make decisions with minimal supervision - Understanding of how technical decisions impact end users - Willingness and interest to travel as needed
