Enterpret is building the AI-native customer feedback platform, centralizing feedback from Twitter, Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, Intercom, community forums, surveys, and Gong calls into a single context graph. As Forward Deployed Engineering Lead, you will be the first FDE lead, managing a team of forward-deployed engineers based in Bengaluru while working directly with US customers. This is a hands-on leadership role combining individual contribution with team management.
Key responsibilities include: delivering customer outcomes by building custom solutions, connectors, integrations, and agent workflows directly with customers; traveling to customer offices for multi-day to multi-week embeds to collect requirements, build in-room, and ensure adoption before departure; managing the FDE engineering team including intake, prioritization, onsite nominations, and US-India coordination; partnering with sales engineering and customer success on POCs and renewals; and maintaining product engineering standards across the team.
You will write code, design solutions in customer environments, and lead from the front. Every engagement has a named customer, named outcome, and end date. Success is measured when customers use and continue using what FDE built. Successful builds graduate into the product through owning teams, strengthening the platform.
Expect approximately 30% travel time for customer embeds. The role requires breadth over specialization—comfort picking up unfamiliar product areas quickly, designing solutions on the fly, and operating comfortably in both executive conversations and deep technical work. You should have prior experience as a forward-deployed engineer, founding engineer close to customers, or solutions engineer who ships real code, with demonstrated success leading small teams while continuing to build.
