BloomReach is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to serve as an embedded technical partner within the company's largest and most complex Search accounts. This is a strategic technical ownership role, not a standard implementation-support position.
The FDE will develop deep expertise across customers' entire commerce stacks—including catalog systems, data pipelines, personalization tools, and site architecture—to understand how Search decisions impact broader business operations. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, proactively identifying architectural risks, recommending sound technical and commercial approaches, and providing constructive pushback when customer preferences could harm outcomes or platform scalability.
Core responsibilities include owning the technical relationship for a portfolio of major Search customers; partnering with Product and Engineering to translate business requirements into executable plans; architecting Feed, Pixel, and API implementations within a holistic data strategy; guiding customers on merchandising rule strategy aligned to business goals; and evaluating implementation approaches for unreleased features in partnership with Solution Architects and Product teams.
You will proactively surface technical debt and anti-patterns, ensure readiness for upcoming product releases, advise on architectural trade-offs with the rigor of an internal code review, serve as the credible technical voice in escalations and executive conversations, and own go-live QA to validate that integrated features are technically sound and architecturally aligned. Success is measured by the strength of the technical relationship and the quality of account architecture, not just successful deployments.
This role requires deep technical judgment, the ability to challenge customers constructively, and the maturity to know when to escalate internally versus hold the line directly with customers.
