Cloudflare is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to serve as a senior technical expert and trusted advisor for strategic enterprise customers. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on customer engagement, where you will architect solutions, optimize performance, and drive business success by helping customers maximize value from Cloudflare's platform—particularly Workers and Workers AI.
You will lead architectural discussions and design sessions to ensure optimal application of Cloudflare's offerings in customer environments. You'll diagnose complex technical issues and deliver strategic solutions in collaboration with support and product teams. The role involves managing complex configurations using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and advising customers on industry best practices for security, network optimization, scalability, and performance tuning.
Key responsibilities include serving as a strategic advisor to key enterprise customers, partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Partners, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure customer insights influence the product roadmap. You'll stay current with industry trends and evolving Cloudflare solutions to provide forward-thinking guidance.
Required qualifications include in-depth experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Solutions Architect or Technical Account Manager, ideally in cloud networking, security, or web infrastructure. You must have extensive knowledge of Cloudflare's Application and Security portfolio (DNS, WAF, DDoS, Bot Management, CDN) and cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience protecting web applications, APIs, and services. Proven ability to work with Cloudflare products in enterprise-level accounts is essential, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong consultative abilities.
Nice-to-have skills include hands-on experience with coding, Cloudflare Workers, Workers AI, and prior customer onsite placement experience.
