Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company has processed over 50,000 years of audio and serves 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations including Twilio, Cloudflare, and major restaurant brands.
As a Forward-Deployed Engineer for Strategic Accounts, you'll embed with one strategic customer at a time, working directly with their technical and business teams alongside Deepgram's core research teams. You'll take Deepgram's voice AI platform the last mile—building production-scale integrations with customer systems (point of sale, loyalty, payment gateways, customer data platforms), developing voice agents that handle live orders, and creating the tooling and prompt engineering that bridges platform capabilities with customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and shipping end-to-end services, integrations, internal tooling, and agent/prompt engineering solutions
- Designing and maintaining production-scale integrations with third-party systems customers rely on
- Spending regular time on site with customers, working directly with their technical and business teams
- Monitoring, debugging, and optimizing production deployments in challenging audio environments (noisy, multi-mic, drive-thru scenarios)
- Collaborating with research and product teams to push the platform forward based on field learnings
- Testing changes against live production data and measuring impact on accuracy, latency, and throughput
You'll work with a senior Forward-Deployed Engineer who reviews your work before it ships and brings you into customer meetings. While deployed, your pod's account is your only customer assignment with high autonomy. Forward-Deployed Engineers are part of the Applied Engineering team, which serves as the technical interface across the entire customer journey and offers a single growth ladder from Associate through Principal.
The role requires an AI-first mindset—active use and experimentation with advanced AI tools is core to how Deepgram operates. The company moves at the pace of AI with rapid change and evolution in day-to-day work. You should be excited to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly.
