Kela Technologies is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to own the technical relationship with large defense and military customers, bridging the gap between customer needs and platform capabilities. In this role, you will work directly with customer engineering teams to design, deploy, and expand Kela's secure integration platform for commercial and military systems. Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end technical relationships across pre-sale and post-sale phases—conducting workshops, deep-dive technical sessions, onboarding, and expansion planning. You'll deeply understand customer architecture, constraints, and requirements, translating them into practical integration plans and solution designs. You will lead hands-on integrations end-to-end, including APIs, data flows, authentication, networking, and deployments, often working from customer sites. You'll be the primary troubleshooter for complex environments, reproducing issues, debugging real systems under real constraints, and driving resolution with internal Support and Engineering teams—or fixing issues yourself when faster. A critical part of the role is defining customer-specific requirements, surfacing product gaps, and translating field learnings into actionable product feedback for features, priorities, and edge cases. You'll build small out-of-band components when needed—scripts, adapters, demos, prototypes—to unblock deals and accelerate deployments. You'll also create scalable technical assets including reference architectures, integration guides, sample code, and repeatable deployment patterns that enable future customer success and reduce deployment friction.
