As a Forward Deployed Engineer on this new team, you will work directly with Fun's most strategic customers to maximize their value from the platform. This is a high-agency role where you'll own discovery, technical scoping, execution, and rollout of functionality that extends Fun's capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and delivering best-in-class onramp and checkout experiences for strategic customers
- Working closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to scope, design, and build scalable solutions
- Leading technical discovery with prospective and existing customers
- Partnering with the business team on evaluations, demos, and prototypes to close deals and increase product stickiness
- Setting standards for the new Forward Deployed Engineering team and contributing to scaling products and processes
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define and prioritize roadmap
You'll need 5+ years of experience building and shipping full-stack production software in high-ownership environments. Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Go, Python, or similar languages is required. Experience working directly with high-value customers from pre-sales through production rollout is essential. You should excel at problem-solving, bridging technical systems with business objectives, and communicating clearly with stakeholders from engineers to executives. Experience with LLMs, high-availability systems, and scaling processes is valued. Nice-to-have skills include React Native, payments, or blockchain integrations.
The role is primarily in-person at Fun's Midtown NYC headquarters, with Monday-Thursday office collaboration and optional work-from-home Fridays. This is a new team focused on shaping direction and building customer-centric solutions.
