Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG and cardiopulmonary signal collection for clinical development and diagnostics. The company serves life sciences partners developing novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders, as well as building a diagnostics platform for reimbursable assessments. As a Forward Deployed Engineer on the Datastore team, you will be the bridge between Beacon's data platform and external partners. The Datastore is the foundational data model and centralized repository/API for brain data collected from clinical studies and home sleep tests. You will work directly with external partners to understand their technical use cases, guide API integrations, and develop solutions that unlock value from Beacon's data platform. Key responsibilities include: conducting technical conversations with partner engineers and data teams to support API integrations and data adoption; designing and implementing solutions on both Beacon's platform and customer platforms to accelerate integration; collaborating with the internal Datastore team to develop tools, queries, and workflows that improve observability and troubleshooting; and translating partner feedback into improvements to documentation, APIs, data models, and operational processes. This role emphasizes deploying and extending the data platform in real-world contexts rather than building core infrastructure. You will develop proofs-of-concept and production-ready code, build analyses and dashboards, and create integration tooling. Success requires comfort with ambiguity, balancing pragmatism with rigor, and delivering solutions quickly while maintaining high standards for data integrity and maintainability. Beacon maintains robust asynchronous work practices supporting remote work, with office hubs in Boston, New York City, and Paris.
