Condor is building the financial intelligence layer for clinical development—connecting clinical operations, vendor activity, and financial signals into a real-time platform for biopharma R&D and finance leaders. The company is a Series A, AI-driven infrastructure startup backed by Insight Partners, Felicis, and 645 Ventures, working with Top 200 biopharma companies.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will embed directly with biopharma customers to understand their clinical and financial workflows firsthand, then design and deploy high-impact, AI-powered solutions. This is an active engineering role, not consulting—when you identify a problem in the field, you solve it by opening PRs against the core codebase, building production-grade capability rather than prototypes.
You will uncover and validate new use cases across finance (accruals, forecasting, reconciliation) and clinical operations (vendor activity, study execution, operational data). You'll design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions rapidly—in days rather than quarters—turning ambiguous customer requirements into technical architecture shipped into Condor's core platform. You'll build and maintain production systems including Django services and APIs, agent workflows on AWS Bedrock, data integrations, monitoring, and feedback loops. You'll own deployments end-to-end from scoping through launch and iteration, operating in high-stakes environments where reliability, speed, accuracy, and judgment matter because customers close their books on this financial data.
You'll identify patterns across deployments and codify field work back into core product and platform capability, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and long-term system design. The role involves occasional travel to customer locations.
You should have 4–10 years of software engineering experience with real depth, having built and owned end-to-end production systems. You've held a forward-deployed, founding-engineer, or similar zero-to-one customer-facing role and turned messy real-world requirements into shipped software. You build end-to-end systems quickly with AI, using LLMs and agent frameworks to go from problem to working system fast, owning their reliability, evaluation, and cost. You have strong proficiency in Python and Django, solid data modeling and SQL on PostgreSQL, and comfort building on AWS (Bedrock, ECS/Fargate, Lambda). React for customer-facing UI is a plus. You're a strong communicator at ease with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, credible in front of customers, and able to operate independently in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
