As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Wonderful, you'll solve high-impact, real-world problems directly alongside enterprise customers, owning work from problem definition through production outcomes.
You'll partner with customers to understand their operational challenges and success criteria, then translate open-ended problems into clear technical designs and implementations. You'll build AI agents that integrate with customer systems and perform real tasks, taking full ownership of deployments including reliability, performance, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on generalist role that requires navigating ambiguity, learning quickly, and working across systems as enterprises transform into AI-driven organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with customers to understand operational challenges and define success criteria
- Translating complex, open-ended problems into clear technical designs and implementations
- Building and deploying AI agents that integrate with customer systems and perform real tasks
- Owning end-to-end deployments, including reliability, performance optimization, and continuous iteration
- Testing with real data, measuring outcomes, and iterating based on results
- Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to ship high-quality solutions
- Contributing to tools, documentation, and best practices that scale customer delivery
You should have 5+ years of software engineering or technical problem-solving experience with strong fundamentals in software design and system thinking. You're comfortable working directly with customers, owning ambiguous problems, and have clear communication skills with a strong ownership mindset. Experience in forward-deployed roles, solutions engineering, customer-facing positions, AI agents, automation, or production systems is a plus.
