Wonderful is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to solve high-impact, real-world problems alongside enterprise customers. In this hands-on generalist role, you'll work directly with customers to understand critical operational workflows, design AI-driven solutions, and deploy intelligent agents that operate reliably in production environments.
You will own projects end-to-end, from initial problem definition and system design through launch and ongoing iteration. Your responsibilities include partnering with customers to understand their operational challenges and success criteria, translating open-ended problems into clear technical designs and implementations, and building AI agents that integrate seamlessly with customer systems to perform real tasks.
Key aspects of the role include owning full deployments with accountability for reliability, performance, and continuous improvement; testing solutions with real customer data; measuring outcomes and iterating based on results; and collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to ship high-quality solutions. You'll also contribute to developing tools, documentation, and best practices that scale customer delivery across the organization.
This role requires 5+ years of software engineering or technical problem-solving experience, with strong fundamentals in software design and systems thinking. You should be comfortable working across systems, integrations, and data flows, and have demonstrated ability to work directly with customers while owning ambiguous problems. Clear communication skills and a strong ownership mindset are essential.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical roles; exposure to AI agents, automation, or conversational systems; and experience operating and improving production systems at scale.
