Valarian Technologies is a dual-use technology company building secure infrastructure tools to address evolving global security challenges. The company develops Acra, a platform foundation for secure enclaves that protects critical data across government and commercial workflows, enabling operational resiliency, technology adoption with IP integrity protection, disaster response coordination, and zero-trust environments.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying, extending, and integrating Acra's secure Kubernetes platform into real-world customer environments. This role combines backend development with direct customer engagement—you'll work closely with end-users to understand their operational constraints, adapt containerized workloads to their infrastructure, and provide feedback to the core platform team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploy & Integrate: Build backend microservices, APIs, and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) in Go to integrate Acra into diverse customer environments including isolated enclaves, edge clusters, and hybrid cloud setups.
- Bridge Product & Customer: Translate ambiguous client security requirements and user workflows into practical technical implementations without waiting for detailed specifications.
- Kubernetes Application Development: Develop containerized applications, Helm charts, and event-driven microservices optimized for customer Kubernetes platforms.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with embedded DevOps/Infrastructure specialists for base cluster provisioning and ML/AI engineers for model harness integration, maintaining focus on client value delivery.
- Feedback Loop: Identify recurring integration patterns and collaborate with core engineering to transform custom client solutions into standardized platform features.
You will write production Go code, build React frontend components, configure microservices, and orchestrate Kubernetes workloads while working across frontend, core backend, infrastructure, and AI teams.
