Tangible Markets builds secondary-transaction infrastructure for private markets, serving banks, fund administrators, and secondaries teams. This Forward-Deployed Engineer role blends solutions engineering, customer success, and hands-on technical work—sitting between clients and the product engineering team.
You will spend roughly half your time on client-facing activities and half on technical product work. On the client side, you lead technical discussions during onboarding (architecture reviews, security questionnaires, SSO and data-flow conversations with client IT teams), translate between client workflow requirements and product capabilities, own accounts post-go-live (adoption, expansion, quarterly business reviews), and serve as the trusted technical contact when issues arise or new requirements emerge.
On the product and engineering side, you build client-specific configurations, integrations, and glue code (SSO, data mappings, API integrations). You turn recurring client asks into structured product requirements and advocate for them with the product team. You prototype solutions quickly, validate them with clients, then hand generalizable parts to engineering. You also write runbooks and documentation that make each client's setup maintainable by others.
You are not embedded on client sites full-time, and this is not a pure relationship or pre-sales role. Client contact is regular but structured—calls and workshops, not constant on-site presence. You own outcomes for accounts, not support tickets.
Required: 3+ years in a technical role with client exposure (solutions engineering, sales engineering, technical account management, or product engineering with heavy customer contact). You can read and write production code—not necessarily the strongest engineer, but "I'll build it" must be a real option. You can hold a room in technical discussions (SSO deep-dives with bank IT security teams, product feedback sessions). Financial services background or demonstrated ability to absorb regulated domains quickly. Strong written communication for requirement docs, runbooks, and follow-up emails. Sound judgment about what to build, configure, or push back on.
Nice to have: fintech experience (especially vendor-side for banks or other fintechs), early-stage B2B startup experience wearing multiple hats, familiarity with enterprise security and compliance (vendor due diligence, DORA, GDPR).
This role matters because enterprise clients in private markets churn when vendors don't understand their workflows well enough to make the platform fit. This role ensures someone does, and what they learn shapes the product.
