Tacto is building an AI-native Procurement Intelligence Platform for manufacturing companies. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be one of the first FDEs at the company, responsible for closing the gap between generic enterprise software and the messy reality of customer environments. Your core responsibilities include: building data pipelines, agents, and custom logic directly in customer production environments; owning the technical side of deployments from data extraction through validation and enrichment; conducting on-site data workshops with customer teams and their IT departments; and translating learnings from the field into product improvements and automation opportunities. You will work across the full stack of a deployment—understanding undocumented processes, mapping legacy ERP systems, and ensuring procurement teams can actually use the results. You'll collaborate closely with Solution Engineering and Customer Value teams to present a unified Tacto experience. A key part of the role is automating repetitive deployment steps by building agents that prove their value in production. The ideal candidate has 0–4 years of experience with a track record of shipping software, automations, or technical projects that real users depended on. You write Python and SQL fluently, use AI coding tools to move fast, and have hands-on experience building with LLMs against real data. You thrive in ambiguous, messy environments with incomplete requirements and conflicting stakeholder input. You can earn customer trust by explaining technical decisions clearly, handling pushback, and avoiding over-promising. You must be based in Munich, speak native-level German and fluent English, and be willing to travel regularly across the DACH region. This is not a remote or ticket-queue role—customer contact is the job itself, not a side effect. You will see firsthand how your work creates value in industrial procurement and have a direct line into the product roadmap. Success in 12–18 months positions you for leadership, deeper product work, or segment ownership.
