Sable has built Aidan, an AI employee capable of leading customer calls using realtime voice, vision, and browser automation. Aidan operates as a live, two-way conversational agent within real product environments, clicking through interfaces like a human, observing user screens, and dynamically adapting interaction flows. Each conversation feeds into a self-improving context graph called the Brain, enabling Aidan to improve continuously.
In this Forward Deployed Engineer role, you will own the engineering side of customer relationships end-to-end. You will join customer calls, identify where Aidan can be improved within their specific product context, and uncover technical breakthroughs—whether in customer configuration, deployment tooling, or the core agent itself. You will partner with a Deployment Strategist who manages customer context and journey design; your domain is everything requiring code.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the assigned engineer for a portfolio of customer accounts, from initial scoping through live implementation
- Build tooling that accelerates deployments: replay systems, evaluation frameworks, configuration management, and integrations with customer infrastructure
- Coordinate development efforts with the core agent team, bringing them reproduced cases and concrete proposed changes rather than vague reports
- Distill learnings from each deployment into playbooks and processes that reduce engineering overhead on subsequent deployments
You are a strong software engineer comfortable working across backend systems, browser automation, and LLM-based architectures. You enjoy direct customer engagement and can lead technical discussions confidently. You have either shipped at a startup, founded a company, or worked in forward-deployed or solutions engineering roles. Bonus experience includes hands-on work with agents, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, voice systems, or realtime infrastructure.
