Replit is an agentic software creation platform that democratizes application development by enabling users to build applications using natural language. The Forward Deployed Engineer role is a deeply technical, hands-on position embedded with enterprise customers to architect, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions on Replit.
In this role, you will partner directly with strategic enterprise customers to understand their technical and business needs, design secure and scalable architectures, and build integrations that connect Replit with their existing systems, data sources, APIs, identity providers, and infrastructure. You'll take projects from initial concept through production deployment, navigating complex enterprise environments and solving technical challenges at the intersection of AI-powered development and real-world constraints around security, data, and organizational requirements.
Key responsibilities include embedding with customers to design and build high-impact applications and AI workflows; architecting enterprise solutions that integrate with SSO, data warehouses, internal APIs, and SaaS systems; owning technical deployments end-to-end; identifying and resolving blockers; and serving as the bridge between customers and Replit's product and engineering teams. You'll translate field insights, technical constraints, and recurring customer needs into actionable product feedback, develop templates and playbooks from successful patterns, and ship improvements back to the platform.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of software engineering experience building and deploying production software; strong programming skills with ability to quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and technical environments; hands-on experience with LLM applications in production (retrieval, tool calls, evals); experience designing and owning complex technical systems from architecture through production; ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments; strong technical communication and customer-facing experience; and ability to translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.
Preferred experience includes Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or consulting roles; building and deploying AI-powered applications and agents; modern cloud infrastructure and deployment patterns; and enterprise integration experience including identity management and developer infrastructure.
