Lio is an AI-powered procurement platform backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Y Combinator, expanding into the US market. As the first Forward Deployed Engineer in the US, you'll be at the intersection of engineering, product, and enterprise customers, working directly with Fortune 500 companies to build and scale AI-driven procurement solutions.
You'll own the full lifecycle of customer-driven initiatives: designing and building enterprise integrations across APIs, SAP, and other business systems; debugging and resolving complex production issues; implementing MVPs that evolve into scalable platform capabilities; and automating deployment workflows. Your work will directly translate customer requirements into reusable product features that benefit the entire platform.
This role offers significant ownership and impact from day one. You'll collaborate closely with customers to understand their technical challenges, work with the engineering and product teams to design solutions, and help establish how Lio serves American enterprise customers as the company scales. You'll be responsible for turning recurring customer needs into platform-wide capabilities, ensuring that solutions built for specific customers become generalizable features.
The ideal candidate has strong engineering fundamentals and enjoys solving complex technical problems across distributed systems and integrations. You should be comfortable in fast-moving environments, take ownership of reliability and scalability, communicate clearly across teams, and be excited about bringing AI into enterprise operations. Prior procurement or SAP experience is not required—curiosity, ownership, and problem-solving ability matter more than a perfect CV.
