As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will bridge customer success and product development, combining strong technical skills with excellent communication. You'll work directly with enterprise customers from onboarding through ongoing optimization, ensuring they maximize value from HappyRobot's AI platform.
Key responsibilities include: customer-facing technical implementation and support; building new features, MVPs, and scalable solutions using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python; designing and iterating on AI/ML solutions including LLM prompting, voice tuning, and transcriber optimization; managing APIs and third-party integrations; collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams; and prioritizing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Approximately 50-75% travel is expected for customer discovery, workshops, demos, and onsite collaboration.
Required qualifications: strong full-stack development experience (React, TypeScript, Node.js); hands-on Python proficiency; demonstrated experience building AI/ML applications with LLM prompting and tuning; API management and third-party integration expertise; excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure; and a founder mindset with independence, ownership, and comfort in fast-paced environments.
