Exiger is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with government and defense customers on mission-critical supply chain risk and geopolitical intelligence challenges. The role combines data engineering, AI/ML expertise, and systems integration to deliver scalable, production-grade solutions that drive measurable real-world impact.
You will design and implement scalable data pipelines for ingesting, cleansing, and transforming supply chain and risk-related datasets. You'll apply AI/ML methods to enhance predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and risk identification within supply chain risk management (SCRM) workflows. Your responsibilities include integrating AI-driven analytics into Exiger's SaaS platform through APIs and data services, partnering with program directors and engineers to operationalize models into production systems, and developing dashboards and visualizations for senior government stakeholders.
Operating at the intersection of engineering, data science, and mission delivery, you will be embedded alongside customer stakeholders and internal teams in small, high-trust groups. You will own projects end-to-end—from architecture and data ingestion through model deployment, integration, and executive briefings. You'll ensure models function reliably in production under real-world operational constraints, support agile delivery cycles, and periodically provide updates on data pipeline performance and customer value realization.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, AI, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in data engineering, applied AI/ML, or scalable system integration. You must demonstrate experience operationalizing AI models beyond experimentation and building/deploying AI/ML systems in production environments. Deep proficiency in Python and SQL, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Redshift), and secure system integration are essential. You should be comfortable translating ambiguous mission problems into structured technical solutions, working directly with senior government stakeholders, and operating independently in dynamic, high-stakes environments. An active TS/SCI security clearance is required, and willingness to travel to support customer engagements is expected.
