DevRev is building Computer, an AI teammate that unifies data sources, tools, and workflows into a single AI-ready platform. The company, backed by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield with $150M+ raised, is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge customer needs and technical implementation. In this role, you'll spend approximately 30% of your time working directly with customers and 70-80% on hands-on technical implementation. You'll design, develop, and deploy AI agents, integrations, and automations that connect DevRev's platform with customers' existing tech stacks. Key responsibilities include building knowledge graphs through API and webhook integrations, optimizing AI performance via prompt engineering and semantic search tuning, and writing SQL queries to surface data-driven insights. You'll own end-to-end solution delivery: from rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development to live technical demos and iterative refinement based on customer feedback. You'll lead cross-functional collaboration across customer success, engineering, product, and revenue teams, ensuring alignment on technical adoption and critical workflows like code repository integrations. The role requires strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python, with deep experience in large-scale data synchronization, API integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, webhooks), and event-driven architectures. You should have hands-on cloud deployment experience (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) and familiarity with modern DevOps practices. Applied AI knowledge—including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG frameworks, and agentic AI evaluation—is essential. Experience with data modeling, graph structures, and observability/telemetry is highly valued. This is a customer-facing technical role requiring willingness to travel up to 80% for on-site implementations and technical workshops. You'll need 5+ years in software development, systems integration, or platform engineering, ideally with prior customer-facing experience. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
